So I didn't know that we got Ascension Day as a holiday in the Netherlands .... until I showed up at work on Thursday and only the Support guys were there! The weather was good, and the boats were out! My full Ascension Day Gallery of pictures from my living room is at the link, but I thought this one was great ... look at that teeny-tiny at the tiller!

Larger Than Life
Shaq is finally hanging up the oversized sneakers and devoting all his time to being an amusing clown in the media ... there's no doubt he was a dominant giant, a one-of-a-kind player that will be remembered long after he's gone. I will always fondly remember the night Michael Cage held him to single-digit scoring with the simple strategy of fighting him toe-to-toe to prevent Shaq from catching the ball in the paint. This was in his Orlando days, and if he caught the ball outside the paint, the odds of him scoring went down dramatically. By the time he was a Laker, that strategy was no longer successful ... and there were damned few people willing to put up with the beating you took trying to keep Shaq out of the paint in the first place, since the league turned a willful blind eye to him charging on virtually every possession.

'The Cloud' doesn't protect you from yourself
As the BBC reports, cloud-based systems like Gmail are vulnerable to the same old phishing/social engineering hack techniques:
Hackers in China have compromised personal e-mail accounts of hundreds of top US officials, military personnel and journalists, Google has said.
The US company said a campaign to obtain passwords originated in Jinan and was aimed at monitoring e-mail.
Google said its security was not breached but indicated individuals' passwords were obtained through fraud.
The e-mail scam uses a practice known as "spear phishing" in which specific e-mail users are tricked into divulging their login credentials to a web page that resembles Google's Gmail web service (or which appears related to the target's work) but is in fact run by hackers, according to a technical report released by Google.
